Duplex Stainless Steel S32205 Pipe Fittings are made from 22% chromium, 5% nickel, and 3% molybdenum with traces of nitrogen, manganese, and silicon. This composition provides exceptional protection against pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking (SCC). Mechanical properties include 450 MPa yield strength, 620 MPa tensile strength and 25% elongation. The good toughness, high resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chloride environments, and excellent weldability further support its use in industrial applications. The material also has a two-phase microstructure comprising austenite and ferrite which ultimately improves both strength and corrosion resistance in highly corrosive applications.
