Inconel 718 is a strong nickel-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum, niobium, titanium, and iron. This alloy imparts the alloy excellent mechanical properties such as tensile strength to as much as 1240 MPa and good creep and rupture resistance at temperatures of up to 704°C. It also possesses good resistance to oxidation, pitting, and stress corrosion cracking.
