253MA is austenitic stainless steel alloy with about 20–22% chromium, 10–12% nickel, and small but significant additions of nitrogen and rare earth metals such as cerium for enhanced high-temperature characteristics. It possesses good oxidation resistance up to 1150°C and retains tensile strength of about 600 MPa and yield strength of about 310 MPa at room temperature. Its high creep strength and high thermal fatigue resistance make it ideal for long-term operation in cyclical thermal conditions.
