309H stainless steel is an austenitic alloy with roughly 22–24% chromium and 12–15% nickel with a higher level of carbon (0.04–0.10%) than regular 309 for enhancing high-temperature strength. It provides about 550 MPa tensile strength and about 205 MPa yield strength, together with excellent toughness and thermal fatigue resistance. Its contents provide better performance in oxidizing conditions and resistance to sulfidation and carburization under high temperatures.
