Stainless Steel 316H is a high-carbon version of 316 austenitic stainless steel with higher content of chromium (16–18%), nickel (10–14%), and molybdenum (2–3%) and more than 0.04% carbon. The elevated carbon enhances high-temperature tensile strength and resistance to creep. It provides a tensile strength of around 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 35%. 316H also boasts good resistance to pitting as well as crevice corrosion in environments with high chlorides. Such mechanical and chemical properties render Stainless Steel 316H Forged Fittings extremely apt for pressure-retaining services in conditions involving extreme temperature and corrosion.
