Grade 316H is a chromium-nickel-molybdenum austenitic stainless steel with around 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, 2–3% molybdenum, and more carbon content (0.04–0.10%) than regular 316. This improves its tensile strength (about 515–585 MPa) and yield strength (approximately 205–240 MPa), while retaining excellent corrosion resistance, especially in the face of chlorides and other aggressive chemicals. It is also well weldable and structurally stable for long periods at high temperatures.
