348H stainless steel is an austenitic alloy with about 17–20% chromium and 8–11% nickel, stabilized with columbium (niobium) to avoid carbide precipitation during welding and long-term heat exposure. The greater carbon content (about 0.04–0.10%) adds tensile and creep strength at higher temperatures. This alloy provides tensile strength of about 550 MPa and yield strength close to 220 MPa, along with excellent ductility, weldability, and thermal fatigue resistance.
