Grade 5 titanium contains about 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium. This combination of alloys greatly increases its strength and thermal stability while retaining corrosion resistance in chlorides, seawater, and most industrial chemicals. Grade 5 provides an extremely high tensile strength of approximately 895 MPa and yield strength of approximately 828 MPa with excellent ductility and fatigue life. The material has a high strength despite its comparatively low density of 4.43 g/cm³, which gives it a superior strength-to-weight ratio.
